    27th Mar 2009Enviro 500 on delivery
A lucky snap at lunchtime was soon-to-be First Glasgow 38201 [DE1] (SN09 CAU), running on trade plates and probably on its delivery run. It was following 38202 [DE2] (SN09 CAV) which got through the lights before I could get my phone out.

    16th Nov 2008Kelvin and Curry
As I only had my mobile phone (again!) with its not all that brilliant camera, I only bothered to take two pictures on today's trip.
14th Nov 2008Roadworks, roadworks and more roadworks
This batch were taken when Ingram Street was shut westbound at Glassford Street, South Frederick Street and South Hanover Street were shut both ways, and Montrose Street was shut southbound at Cochrane Street. The resultant tangle of diversions, if taken literally, would leave a motorist in permanent orbit around George Square. Here are some off-route runnings.
    27th Oct 2008Rotten photo of an X6
I only took this photo so I could check the details of the X6 branding on First's rented coaches.

It's a bit blurry and the bus is too far away, but you can see what the new branding looks like!
    12th Oct 2008GVVT Open Day 2008
17 photos this year - 14 on the street and 3 in the shed. Next year I'll try to get some photos along the route but I'm normally too busy.

    Lathalmond Open Weekend 2008
En route to Lathalmond 2008, I stopped at the petrol station, then couldn't get LA1204 started again. Thankfully the cavalry came to my rescue after I used up most of my mobile phone balance!

    8th Jul 2008Unlucky Solo
On the 8th July, a Gibson Optare Solo on the SPT dial-a-bus service in Shawlands had a bad crash, straight into a tree.
29th Jun 2008West End Festival and Parade of Wheels 2008
Preparing for the West End Festival vintage bus service, and the Parade of Wheels, the weather looked like it would be perfect. Photography was later abruptly curtailed by a cloudburst. At this point Dad was under an umbrella to get photos of the Parade in progress. By the time the Parade finished, the weather improved.
    20th Jun 2008Holmlea Road
I went out on my bike to get a batch of photos. I got as far as Cathcart, then it began to rain so I headed back with only 2 photos. Sigh.
    18th Jun 2008Unexpected Hungarian Routemaster
Matching the unexpected French Routemaster further down the page, here's a photo of a novel use for a Routemaster, snapped in Hungary by one of my lecturers.

    21st Nov 2007Trip to London
I had a (very) brief trip to London on 21/11/07, and managed to get a handful of photos. The London traffic makes it tricky – It's far busier than Glasgow.

Any corrections to my captions are welcomed - quite a few of the photos are hard to get fleet/registrations from so I may have got them wrong. In the first photo, thanks to that taxi, I don't even know what company it is!
17th Nov 2007St. Enoch bus terminus
L108 was used for a "Santa Special" for Debenhams. While we loaded up I got a chance to get some photos at the St. Enoch bus terminus.

Also included are some photos Paul Adams took of L108 after we'd got to Argyle Street via 3 laps of the City Centre!

    18th Aug 2007Lathalmond "Summer" Open Weekend 2007

This batch were all taken at the Lathalmond Spring Running day 2007.
22nd Apr 2007More new arrivals at Bridgeton
Some more new arrivals at Bridgeton. While the Council are moving the Transport Museum, they needed some extra space. This has given us two extra buses to look after in the meantime.

An ex-Central Dominator arrived, just while I had my camera handy.

    Lathalmond Open Weekend 2006

FTE 632B is an East Lancs bodied Leyland PD3 which we were collecting for spares from Liddell's of Auchinleck. The engine is the only good thing about this bus, and that just happens to be the bit we needed.
13th Jun 2006Buses on Clarkston Road
As the Ailsas get fewer and further between, I spotted one going up the road on a peak run 66. I grabbed my camera and waited for it to come back down. It didn't.

While it tried my patience, I had the chance to snap assorted buses going about their business.

This preserved bus was spotted on the motorway back through England as we returned from our holiday in France.

    to 6th May 2006
Diverted Buses and Rail Replacement Buses
From 30 April till the time of captioning this on 11 May, and a bit beyond, Clarkston Road was shut citybound at the Cathcart railway bridge. This led to a huge diversion for services 66 and 44, missing every stop between Muirend Somerfield and Sinclair Drive (44) or Battlefield Road (66). First ran a shuttle bus to Merrylee road with minibuses which could definitely get under the Merrylee Road bridge. Also on the 6th of May, the railway line was being worked on somewhere between Glasgow Central and Pollokshields East, as well as between Central and Pollokshields West. Buses were substituting on these two very short rail replacement services.
28th Mar 2006Design drawings of the St. Enoch Centre
These are photos of the original artists impression of the St. Enoch Centre. It was built next to a bus station, then served by green and yellow GGPTE buses, a fact which the artist was presumably aware of!

    When the Geminis were new
Sometime in December, I went out on my bike to get photos of the then new Wright Eclipse Gemini deckers. Then it began to rain, so I gave up and went home, taking the one solitary picture of the day on the way!
    8th Jun 2004
    to 8th Sep 2004
    Portugal
Over the Summer of 2004, I was carrying out a research project on placement in a lab at Instituto Superior Técnico. I managed to find time to get some photos of the Lisbon bus (and tram) scene. I haven't managed to identify some of the bus types. Any info would be appreciated!

Some info on the trams courtesy of Gary Conn - Thanks, Gary!:

The modern Lisbon trams are built by Siemens. The older cars are single truck. The 500 series (which are single ended - driving controls at one end only) are still in regular use and are fitted with trolleypoles and pantographs depending on what route they run. The 700 series (double ended) are in reserve for hires and use on routes which are curtailed short of the terminus that require the driver to change ends - all terminal points on the system have turning loops. Tram number 10 is the last remaining bogie car which has 2 bogies rather than one truck.
5th Jun 2004Sneak visit to Larkfield
A sneak into Larkfield on the 5th of June 2004 to check the identity of the white Atlantean which turned out to be LA697.
    1st Jan 2000Scanned photos
This is a collection of the photos I took with various old-fashioned film cameras before I went digital in 2004. Many of the photos aren't brilliant, but they're here anyway.

There may be some more recent photos which other people have taken as well. I've credited the photographer where known. If any of the photos are yours and you don't want me to use them, please let me know. If it's OK for me to use them, get in touch and I'll credit you properly.

The photos are partly sorted out, but still seem a bit random.
